The future of fluorescent is not so bright

All things fluorescent lighting is increasing in price, and FAST!

As demand for fluorescent lamps, ballasts, sockets, etc. continue to plummet, the prices of these products continue to soar, and the rate only seems to be escalating. Pricing for these products has increased over 20% in the last 12 months. And we are being told by manufacturers that by January of 2022, prices will increase by another 30%.

Converting fluorescent lighting to LED, no matter the application, is all the craze. LED lighting has become more and more popular as the prices of these products hold steady, and in some cases this year have decreased. As the supply of LED products continue to outpace demand in the market, prices will adjust downward, making it the most attractive lighting option. Not to mention LED’s energy savings and limited replacement cost due to longer lifetime use.

These days there are replacement LED products for just about every lighting option available, fluorescent, incandescent, HID, neon, accent, signage, specialty, and more. And in many cases these conversions can be done by do-it-yourselfers. Savings consumers even more costs.

No matter how you view it, the brave new days (and nights) ahead will be illuminated by LED and will belong to the LED revolution. At some point in the very near future, any other type of lighting will not be either due to availability, cost, or just plain common sense.
