Neon Vintage Sign Parts Can be found at PartsForSigns.com
Though LEDs have reduced the sale of neon products, there’s a trend toward restoring vintage neon signs. At PartsForSigns.com, we can help you find parts for you vintage neon sign project. This Q & A will give you an overview.
Q: How can I find neon sign parts for vintage signs?
A: If you have a vintage sign and the exact parts are no longer available, chances are we can provide the acceptable substitution for your part.
Q: How do I know if I need a neon sign transformer?
A: If there are no shorts in the wiring or neon, then chances are the transformer needs to be replaced. If the wiring shows signs of burning, then you have a short, and the wiring needs replaced. Typically the neon tube would be the last part to be bad. In this case, you would need to remove the tube from the sign and take it to a local sign shop with a neon department to have tested/repaired.
Q: Why are today's neon tubes better than in the past?
A: They are not necessarily. However, neon can be tricky. Especially in outdoor applications. You might find that a simple replacement part will solve the problem for a long time. If, however, you experience on going issues to keep your neon sign working, you may want to consider the many LED replacement/retrofit parts we have available.
